A tour of the new house

We bought a house in New Jersey, in Essex County. We now are members of the land-owning classes! The house has a large, fenced-in back yard and the kitchen has huge windows looking out to the yard. We are still figuring out what we want to do with the house but we have time, it's all ours now.

Moving into our new house

Buying the house is a huge step. Moving in was another one. We are lucky that the move was arranged by John's work and so the movers not only packed us up in Australia but did the unpacking on the New Jersey end as well.

The trip to Ikea

A new house generally requires new furniture and ours is no exception. We went to Ikea, which, by the way, is extremely kid-friendly. The three of us had a good time, starting with breakfast in the cafeteria and finishing with an arduous and annoying wait in a long line of people waiting to arrange for those dang cute flat packs to be delivered home.

Margaret's Birthday

Our little girl turned two! We had a party a couple of weeks after we moved in so it was a small event, just a couple of friends and some of Margaret's cousins. Margaret had a great time! and we hope everyone else did as well.

The Giletti grandparents visit

My parents came from California to visit with us. It was a real treat for all of us. They hadn't seen Margaret in about a year so there was a lot of fun to be had on both sides as they all got reacquainted.

Margaret in New Jersey Parks

More photos of Margaret in the park. We found all new parks in our new neighborhood. Of course now that the weather is getting quite cold, as in below freezing, we're not spending so much time outdoors.

Playgroup

Margaret and I have joined a playgroup. It's a small one with only three other kids her age. Here are photos of the kids at one of the local malls clinking glasses. You'd think they were in a pub!

Margaret's photographs

These aren't photos of Margaret, they're photos by Margaret. Since she is only two years old that means a lot of the pictures she takes are "not ready for prime time" but every now and then she comes up with a gem!

More Silliness with Margaret

Margaret has her serious moments, her cuddly moments, and her Terrible Two moments, but I think her silly moments are my favorites. Well, her silly moments and her cuddly ones.
