Ginger Cookies

Makes 3 ½ - 4 dozen cookies. Preheat oven to 375. Mix:

1/3 c Crisco
1/3 c butter
1 egg
4 T molasses (or 3 T blackstrap molasses)
1 c sugar
1 T water

Sift:

2 c flour
2 t baking soda
½ t ground ginger
½ - 1 t cinnamon
½ t ground cloves
¼ t salt

Make into balls and roll in

Sugar

Bake a 375 for 8-10 minutes. Batter is dry but do not overbake or cookies will not be soft. Take them out when still a little wet looking.
