Mainstay French Toast

1 c brown sugar
½ c butter
2 Tbsp corn syrup
2 tart apples, peeled & sliced
5 eggs
1 ½ c milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 loaf French bread, cut into ¾ “ slices
(apple or maple syrup to serve)

Cook the sugar, butter and corn syrup until syrup-y. Pour into a 9x13” baking dish. Spread the apples over the syrup. Place the bread on top of apple slices. Whisk together remaining ingredients and pour over bread.

Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Uncover and bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut into squares and serve with apple or maple syrup.
